PR Account Manager
Relevant Experience
PR Account Managers should be able to direct accounts on a day-to-day basis, have a good working knowledge of day-to-day client liaising, running a client team, mentoring and developing junior account staff, and line managing junior account staff. Account Managers must have a proven track-record developing and implementing client programmes and increasing revenue through organic growth and new business or similar experience.
Skills

Develop PR programmes for clients containing a wide spectrum of tactical activities which fit within a clear strategic framework
-
Direct the account team’s activities to ensure that an appropriate tactical programme is developed and implemented in accordance with ILC quality standards
-
Proactively advise clients on new issues and changes in external environment that could impact on PR programme
-
Instigate and effectively lead company brainstorms for developing both the strategic and creative direction of accounts
-
Take responsibility for highlighting crisis/issue management procedures to the client for implementation by the account team
-
Contribute to client marketing/strategic planning meetings
-
Co-ordinate production of press materials: writing, commissioning, approval, and organising, photocopying and collating press packs
-
Work in accordance to the client and the company’s standards
-
Organise annual internal reviews of accounts and client appraisals with a view to evaluate programme outcomes

Monitor external environment, highlighting key issues/crises and, working with the lead Board Director on the account, informing the client of implications and potential action required

Maintain social contact with client personnel and regular contact on account direction, staffing issues etc
Media Skills
-
Generate press releases, media backgrounders, media alerts, project proposals, wrap-up reports and summary project documents

Liaise with journalists, providing client/product information and selling in client/product story

Work with junior team members to ensure that media contact list and database is up-to-date

Proficient in all Microsoft Office packages including Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

Good time management to ensure deadlines are met

Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise different tasks
